I. Introduction
MY MUSIC FOR PEACE is a program meeting the most basic need of all nations of the World ? common wish for living in peace and sense of security.
The program joins citizens of different countries through music that helps to fulfill the vision of peace and non violent way of life.
The idea of the program is using potentials of music to influence people in positive way towards tendering emotions, decreasing level of frustration and aggression, developing empathy, openness to needs of other people, inspiring peace activities.
Genesis The program began with an action on 1st September 2008 related to the Anniversary of the II World War outbreak and paying homage to victims of other tragic events of history, that took place in September, in particular the WTC attack and Biesłan tragedy.
An open letter was written to citizens of different countries with an appeal for connecting memory about victims with deep wish for peace, ceasing wars and all kind of violence, and for dedicating a chosen piece of music to that wish.
Now the program has two dimensions ? two ways of participation.
1. Individual - it is participated by receivers of music for whom ?my music? means a piece of music a performer or a kind they like and consider important.
While listening to music, enjoying it a listener focuses his/her thoughts to a vision of peace and ceasing wars and violence. This way music connects people who desire peace and builds up common faith and will to end wars and violence.
2. Public- a koncert. It is an artist way. "My music" - the one created and performed by an artist for other people. By dedicating a piece of music or a concert to the idea of peace in the world, an artist connects listeners in the wish, creating a new, particular kind of connection.
Violence is a common phenomenon ? not only during massive acts of violence like wars or terrorist attacks, but existing in each environment, all measures and in different ages.
Lots of actions are taken in the entire world to decrease violence as a global phenomenon. In spite of big number and diversity of these actions, scale of violence is growing, depraving human being as intelligent species and becoming a threat to planetary life.
The program creates a field for new initiatives, multi-directed actions and large discussion about what violence is, why it is so important to learn about its way of acting and what music is, how to use it in work against violence.
We are inviting all people, institutions and organizations to co-creating the program.
II. Objectives
The Main goal
Decreasing the scale of violence, integration citizens of the world through using music as a tool creating a harmonious and peaceful model of coexistence and ma king it attractive and desirable.

IV. Content
1. Music as a vehicle of peaceful attitudes. Musical culture. Different kinds of music
Common belief that music tenders custom is deeply justified in history of culture and social life.
From the beginning of human history music plays the role of mediator and it opens door to understanding each other,
especially where all efforts to find compromise fail. There is a lot to do in the field of using possibility of music for creating peace on Earth - in a global sense and on local level.
Every kind of music supports such actions, the only wrong music is one whose message hurts other people, causes destruction of life forms.
Music tenders custom through a kind of emotions it wakens in people, through reaching natural human positive and noble instincts empathy and making good.
This possibility exists In very kind of music, as well as artistic potential, that should be revealed and developed.
The program considers also shaping musical awareness. Developing ability of receiving music and other forms of art of high artistic value helps development of sensitivity and openness on other people?s needs.
The purpose Is to find and develop artistic values of various kinds of music. Society listens to music that is served by media, considering it important and worth to be listened to. Development knowledge about music will lead to conscious choice of music instead of passive giving up to common propaganda.
Musical pieces that are recognized In social awareness and act as ?Icons? of peace message play important and positive role In keeping and reinforcing wish for peace In the world.
2. Every year music festival My Music for Peace. Vistula. Poland ? World. 6th August
International cultural event organized every year on 6th August in relation to the Anniversary of nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in context of the II World War. The main point of the Festival are to be:
A big, spectacular concert on a river with performance of an outstanding artist.
The First Edition concert is to be performed by KITARO
A stage is to be placed on a platform built on the river, thousands of people would gather on the shore.
- International interdisciplinary conference participated by science authorities and personalities representing different environments, celebrities
- Giving the My Music for Peace Award. The award is to be received by artists representing various kinds of music.
3.The MY MUSIC FOR PEACE Award
It will be given to musicians, whose work inspires and supports actions for peace. Artists from different countries will receive it. There will also be posthumous awards. The first one will be given to John Lennon for "Imagine".
A committee of giving awards is going to be called out, establishing criteria. The award is going to become also a factor for propagating both the idea of music for peace and artistic achievements of candidates to this award.
It will also bring attention of artistic environment and lovers of music of different kinds and gather young generation around the My Music for Peace idea and inspire artists to creating music positively influencing society.
4.The My Music for Peace Centre.
The plan is to build an object - that would serve both as a monument and as a centre- museum dedicated to musicians whose music has brought a message of peace that has a significant influence on generations. The inspiration came from the Imagine Peace Tower constructed by Yoko Ono to pay homage to John Lennon.
The idea evolved and now the project is to create a number of metal made figures showing great musicians - John Lennon, Freddy Mercury, Jimmy Hendrix,
Louis Armstrong?and other artists whose works bring message of peace and contribute to spreading non violent attitudes. The CIRLES of PEACE MUSIC are also to serve as a place of concerts, meetings and ceremonies. In the middle of the circles we consider installing fire.
5. Education, bringing up generations for peace
Multi - directional educational actions are going to be taken on every stage of teaching, establishing special educational programs. Need for change is unquestionable both in sphere of behavior, awareness, mature, assurance of safety to our planet. It is essential both in the light of continuing armed conflicts and ecological threats as well as all other dangers. It is also unquestionable and necessary to consider it the highest priority to do all possible to truly shape attitudes of peace, tolerance, empathy,
understanding and sense of responsibility for the planet.
The aim of educational work is also reducing amount of bad vocabulary
6. Journalism. Role of reporters- missionaries of conscious.
Common, easy and direct access to information about events happening In all the word is one of the most significant attributes of modern world. The Internet and television make citizens nearly eye witness both good, joyous moments and big tragedies. In order to the information be shown to people it is first delivered by reporters. If not devotion and extraordinary courage of reporters in face of life danger, the world would have never learnt about innumerous dramas, injustices and crimes. Lots of journalists gave their lives in order to deliver people truth, awakening conscious, many times causing effective help.
Possibility of nearly direct watching what is happening in the most distant places joins people, creates feeling of oneness, contributes to developing empathy, kindness and solidarity- the values what are opposition to factors common in today reality like violence, cynicism, callousness and helps human kind save face.
V. Methods and forms of work - procedures of attaining objectives
1. Organization local and international conferences with wide spectrum of topics
Issues:
Human rights.Right to living in peace and sense of security
a) Awakening of awareness and interest in subject of respecting human rights
b) Popularization of knowledge about life conditions and respecting human rights of different countries citizens War, terrosism and violence.
Interdisciplionary approach to the problem
a) Understanding of mechanism of violence and increasing scale of the phenomenon
b) Violence and biological and psychological conditions of human existence
An approach to animals. Building awareness that treating animals with respect is reflection of human dignity and development. Violence among youth.
Educational problem. Conditions of Rusing violence
a) Lowering age of violence perpetrators
b) Lack of security sense, the adults should have created
Threat of nuclear extinction and future of our planet
a) Reality of nuclear extinction. The role of governments and single citizens
b) Responsibility of modern generation for future of the planet The role of music in building Earth awareness as a common home.

c) Organization of meetings at schools with artists, known personalities - their purpose will be to draw interest of young people to the issue of world peace and encouraging them to searching of information, getting knowledge, inspiring to activities propagating the idea of life without violence.
d) Initiating education programs- shaping model of life without violence, in spirit of peace
e) Organizing youth gatherings, to share experiences, points of view, establishing new contacts, integrating and initiating new activities for peace

The word ?war? should have gone down to history. It hasn?t.
The day of beginning the Olympic Games that are supposed to support the idea of peace was also the beginning of the bloody conflict in Georgia Wave of terrible repression in Tibet is growing in spite of the Olympics Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are going on Conflict in Africa and other parts of the world are continued.
1 September is a special day for Poland
We remember heroes, suffering of Polish nation and suffering of all nations in the world. This time let us connect our remembering with a deep wish of peace, ending wars and all violence in the world.
Let us strengthen this wish, dedicating music we love to it Music we enjoy, music that makes us really happy.
All music is right for that because it is right to enjoy it, to feel pleasure while listening performing it. The only wrong music would be that one whose message is contrary to the idea of peace, goodwill and mutual understanding.
Listen, sing, dance, enjoy as usual music you love, but that day offer at least one piece, dedicate it to the wish for peace in the world.
Connect this wish with your enjoyment, intention, prayer or meditation.

Not much, indeed
Talk to your friends, tell them to dedicate their thoughts to the wish of ending wars and violence in the world while listening to music they love.
Share your music with us. Write what music you want to listen to, to send to the world your will of peace and understanding. You may also organize an event.
We are also talking to students. During a school celebration, while we usually dedicate some part to antiwar poetry and songs, make a change. Just include one piece you enjoy, choose it together.

A word, a thought, intention can make a lot of evil. Wars do not occur by themselves, they do not come from nowhere.
Someone?s will, though, evil intention turned into action makes them happen.
However, a word, a thought, intention can also do a lot of good.
Lots of words were said about peace, but something more can be done.
It?s time for MUSIC to speak. Music you love.
Music has great power.
It?s an international language of heart and it does not listen to any prohibitions and orders.
May it strengthen our WISH for peace, our faith that PEACE IS POSSIBLE.
My power of that faith be connected with enjoyment that comes
while listening to music you love.
It is a whole world action.
