Don Campbell passed away

User

Today we received a sad news that Don Campbell passed away on the 2nd June. He was a member of the Honorary Board of our Foundation, a wonderful man and a great teacher.

He was one of the most internationally recognized authorities in the field of music therapy, author of outstanding publications describing the MOZART EFFECT, as he called the effect that structured, excellent music has on human health and learning. He was an expert and the author of the therapy and music education program based on this phenomenon.

Here is the email we got and share:
Dear friends,

I want to be sure that you know that, after a 5 month transition with pancreatic cancer, Don passed away on June 2, 2012.

If this is the first you have heard of this sad news, I am so sorry that we were not able to reach you months ago. Don did put very much thought and effort into the process of sharing his news in February and March. After that, as his energy was waning, he found great comfort in receiving emails, phone calls, and visits with close friends and family.
His whole journey is well chronicled on the CaringBridge website. You can read his Story (the beginning of the journey), his on-going Journal, and almost 2000 entries in the Guestbook. It is all filled with his wisdom, humor and wit, and an incredible out-pouring of love from around the world.

Find this site at www.caringbridge.org/visit/DonCampbell. If you have not used Caring Bridge before, you will have to enter your email address and create a password.

We celebrated a unique two-hour memorial service on June 13th in Boulder which included a variety of music, speakers, and surprises. After much collaboration by talented friends, the video of that service is finally ready for you and posted online! Click here to watch it:
